Institute of Hospitality Sponsors Prestigious Education Awards in 2011

The Institute of Hospitality is delighted to be demonstrating its ongoing commitment to professional development and raising standards by sponsoring two prestigious education awards this year.

The Catey Education and Training Award goes to individuals who have demonstrated an innovative approach to continuous learning with particular regard to the needs of the hospitality industry in the UK. Past winners include Michael Coaker, Senior Lecturer in Culinary Arts, Thames Valley University, and Julia Sibley, Chief Executive, The Savoy Educational Trust.

The Professional Association for Catering Education (PACE) Awards for Innovation are now in their third year. The Institute of Hospitality is delighted to be sponsoring the PACE Innovative Partnership with Industry Award.

This might be a partnership with an employer, where the lecturer goes into industry or the employer comes into the college. This award is looking for examples that promote a good experience with another organisation.  Last year the partnership between Thames Valley University and the Vineyard at Stockcross took the award.

Open to all PACE members, nominations are sought between February and March 2011. For more information go to: http://www.keepinpace.org
