Attendees heard that 77.8% of bookings for the top 30 hotel brands were made online last year. Casey Davey of Rate Tiger advised hoteliers not to block any of the large third party websites because it would only limit your exposure to demand.
The key when dealing with third party sites, he said, was to read the contract in detail, find out how much the commission was and, if necessary, employ the services of a lawyer to write in clauses.
