East of England Hotels Lift Performance in 2010

Outside London, chain hotels in the East and South East of England reported the biggest year-on-year improvements in revenue per available room (RevPAR) during 2010, according to TRI Hospitality Consulting’s Regional Performance Report.

For the East sample of hotels, average RevPAR increased by 3.9% to £47.46; for the South East, RevPAR rose by 3.7% to £49.10. Both improvements were driven by higher occupancy.  In contrast, occupancy dropped in Yorkshire and Humberside, but the region experienced the biggest increase (10.9%) in average room rate, albeit from a low base - £68.64 in 2010 compared to £61.92 in 2009.
