The Institute's Library and Information Service is a unique collection of resources in the field of hospitality, leisure & tourism (HLT). Members have FREE access to the following specialist information services:

Online Library Catalogue Access Service

  • full content e-books, electronic reports and websites
  • Institute Management Guides in electronic format
  • an archive of hardcopy books, journals and reports
  • a document delivery service at specially reduced rates

e-Journal Collection Access Service

The Institute offers members FREE access to specially selected, full-content journals covering the areas of hospitality, tourism, leisure and general business. Members can download, e-mail and print articles for FREE (in compliance with applicable copyright). The following is a sample of the e-journals titles available to members:

BusinessHR Access Service

BusinessHR's information can help you manage staff and people issues quickly, easily and confidentially at any time of the day or night. The BusinessHR website offers free, easy access to comprehensive topical guidance on all people management issues in addition to:

  • Detailed HR topic coverage and links to further resources

  • Step-by-step HR guides

  • A FREE HR newsletter

Enquiry Service Access Service

Provided by the Institute's qualified subject specialist librarians to all Institute members, this FREE reference service can assist with enquiries relating to the hospitality industry and general business matters.

Free eLearning Modules for Hospitality Students & Professionals

The Institute has, with the generous support of the Savoy Educational Trust, produced five online learning modules just for hospitality, leisure and tourism students and professionals. The five modules include engaging audio, fun quizzes and exercises and can be completed in about 20-30 minutes. They cover:

  • Effective Study Skills
  • Managing Your Professional Portfolio
  • Information and Research Handling
  • Introduction to Professional Development
  • French Language Skills
